Get ready sneakerheads, because a beloved Nike silhouette from the 90s is set to make a major comeback in 2025 - the Nike Trainer Huarache.
Originally introduced in the 1990s as part of Nike's iconic Huarache line designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Trainer Huarache was a true pioneer in sneaker design. Just like the legendary Air Huarache, the Trainer Huarache featured a unique neoprene interior and leather/TPU exoskeleton upper that stood out from the crowd. It also notably lacked the traditional Swoosh logo, making it one of the rare Nike sneakers to forgo the brand's signature branding.
The Huarache family of sneakers experienced mainstream success in the 90s and has remained a beloved part of sneaker culture. While the Air Huarache has essentially been archived, the Trainer Huarache hasn't seen a proper retro release since the late 2010s - until now.
Sneaker News has uncovered two new monochrome colorways of the Nike Trainer Huarache expected to drop as part of Nike's Spring 2025 lineup. One will arrive in a "Blue Tint" colorway, while the other sports a clean "Sail/Khaki" look, as showcased in the official retailer images.
The "Sail/Khaki" colorway features a harmonious blend of various tan hues throughout the design, creating a sleek, understated aesthetic. Notably, this version will come equipped with flat rope laces rather than the standard laces.
While we're still waiting on official release details, eager sneakerheads can expect to see new Trainer Huarache colorways hit the market as soon as Spring 2025. The shoes are expected to retail for $140, so be sure to budget accordingly if you want to participate in the retro revival of this iconic 90s silhouette.
The return of the Nike Trainer Huarache is sure to excite longtime fans of the Huarache line and introduce a new generation of sneakerheads to this pioneering design. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the Spring 2025 release!
