On his 40th birthday, J. Cole took to his newly launched blog to clear up some misconceptions about his upcoming album "The Fall Off."

In his second blog post, Cole addressed the speculation that his blog launch meant a new album was imminent. "Ib told me some people was thinking this blog meant an album was about to drop," he said, referring to his longtime manager Ibrahim Hamad. "Nahhh. Not exactly."

The Dreamville rapper explained that the blog is simply a place for him to share things he's been enjoying, like documentaries he's been watching on YouTube and songs he's been listening to. "When it's time for something you will know. This is not that. I just wanted a place to share documentaries I be watching on YouTube and songs I fuck with," he clarified.

Cole, who turned 40 on Tuesday (January 28), thanked fans and friends for their birthday wishes, saying "I do appreciate it." He also shared a link to the dancehall track "I Am Blessed" by Mr. Vegas, which he called "the anthem for the day."

The North Carolina native first teased "The Fall Off" project five years ago, suggesting it would arrive ahead of the fifth and final iteration of Dreamville Festival. Many fans had speculated that Cole's recent blog launch was a sign the long-awaited album was finally on the way.

However, in his blog post, Cole made it clear that the blog is not part of an album rollout. "This is not that," he stated firmly. Fans will have to continue waiting patiently for updates on "The Fall Off," which is rumored to be J. Cole's final album.

Despite the album delay, Cole seems to be in a reflective and grateful mood as he celebrates his milestone 40th birthday. As he wrote in his first blog post: "In a nutshell I'm GRATEFUL. Happy new year to yall and God bless. 2025 will be a good one."
