Kanye West has been working on plans for his own self-sufficient city called DROAM, and he's now sharing more details about his ambitious vision. In a recent since-deleted Instagram post, Ye laid out a multi-page list of features he wants to include in the DROAM city.
Some of the key details about Kanye's planned DROAM city:
- It will span 100,000 acres, making it roughly four times the size of Paris and more than half the size of New York City.
- The city will have no stairs, only single-story designs with "endless" pathways connecting different functional pods.
- There will be no glass used in the construction, and the city will feature outdoor kitchens.
- Kanye is currently recruiting for project managers, engineers, architects and other roles to help bring DROAM to life.
This isn't the first time Kanye has talked about building his own city. Back in 2020, he revealed plans for a "hyper-utilitarian" underground community called YZY CITY in Wyoming. And in 2022, it was reported that Kanye had filed trademarks to create a "Yecosystem" of branded homes, retail stores and more.
Now, with the purchase of a lavish $35 million Beverly Hills mansion, Kanye seems poised to make DROAM a reality. The 20,000-square-foot compound includes 11 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, a guest house, pool, tennis court and more - and Kanye has already teased "DROAM" plans for the estate.
While details are still limited, it's clear Kanye has big ambitions when it comes to building his own self-sustaining community. We'll have to stay tuned to see if DROAM becomes a reality in the coming years. But if anyone can pull off creating an entire city from scratch, it just might be Kanye West.
