Kendrick Lamar has been dominating the music charts for the past year, but now his historic runs have finally come to an end.
Lamar's hit single "Luther" had been at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-breaking 13 weeks. However, it has now fallen to number 5 on the chart, dethroned by the new single "What I Want" by Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae.
Additionally, Lamar's other major hit "Not Like Us" has fallen off the Billboard Hot 100 chart entirely. The song had previously spent an incredible 52 consecutive weeks on the chart, setting a new record for a rap song.
Despite these chart losses, Kendrick Lamar has continued to make waves in the music industry. He recently set a new record for the highest-grossing single rap concert, with a $14.8 million show in Seattle on his Grand National Tour. This surpassed his own previous record of $11.8 million set in Dallas.
However, Lamar did face some setbacks at the recent American Music Awards. He was widely expected to dominate the show, but ended up only winning one award - Favorite Hip Hop Song for "Not Like Us." He lost in major categories like Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year.
Overall, while Kendrick Lamar's historic chart runs have come to an end, he continues to cement his status as one of the biggest and most influential artists in hip-hop. His ability to consistently break records and fill arenas is a testament to his unparalleled talent and popularity. It will be exciting to see what he accomplishes next.
