Renowned rapper Nicki Minaj has been forced to shut down rumors that she has come out as gay following a recent photoshoot for Vogue Italia. In one of the images, Minaj is seen stepping out of a closet, leading a fan to speculate that it was a symbolic representation of her being "in the closet" and secretly gay.
However, Minaj quickly dismissed the rumors, simply responding "No" to the fan's comment. This is not the first time the Trinidadian-born MC has addressed speculation about her sexuality. Back in 2010, she stated: "I think girls are sexy. But I'm not going to lie and say that I date girls."
These days, Nicki Minaj appears to be happily married to her husband, Kenneth Petty. The couple originally knew each other as teenagers before reconnecting in 2018 after Minaj's previous relationship with Meek Mill. They tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first child a year later.
Despite Minaj's seemingly picture-perfect family life, her husband Petty has faced significant scrutiny over his criminal past. In 1995, he was convicted of attempted rape, for which he served four years in prison. In 2022, he was also given three years' probation and one year of house detention for failing to register as a sex offender in California, where he and Nicki moved in 2019 before getting married.
Petty's victim, Jennifer Hough, has accused Nicki and her husband of harassing her due to the conviction. This has only added to the controversies surrounding Nicki Minaj's personal life, even as she continues to dominate the music industry with her chart-topping hits and captivating performances.
Through it all, Nicki Minaj remains steadfast in her commitment to her marriage and her refusal to entertain any rumors about her sexuality. As she navigates the challenges of fame and family, her fans eagerly await her next musical and personal endeavors.
