Trouble for Dame Dash: Facing Massive Debt and Risk of Losing Engagement Ring

Dame Dash, the renowned music executive and entrepreneur, is once again facing financial troubles that could cost him dearly. According to recent reports, Dash is on the hook for a staggering $825,000 debt to movie producer Josh Webber, stemming from a copyright infringement and defamation lawsuit.

The legal battle between Dash and Webber dates back to 2016, when Dash was initially selected to direct the film "Dear Frank." However, he was later removed from the project after being deemed unfit for the job, with Webber and his production company Muddy Water Pictures claiming Dash was frequently under the influence on set.

The pair's longstanding issues eventually led to Webber suing Dash in 2019, accusing him of copyright infringement and defamation. The jury ultimately sided with Webber, handing down a decision in 2022 that left Dash with a massive financial burden.

Now, Webber's legal team is looking to recoup as much of the debt as possible, and they've set their sights on Dash's most prized possessions – including his engagement ring. In a letter filed with the court, Webber's lawyer, Christopher Brown, cited a previous interview where Dash revealed his fiancée, Raquel Horn, had given him the ring.

"The 'engagement ring' is owned by Dash and subject to public auction," Brown wrote in the letter, making it clear that the ring is on the table as a means to satisfy Dash's outstanding debt.

This latest development comes on the heels of Dash's Roc-A-Fella Records stake being auctioned off to cover his massive debts, which also included $193,000 in back child support and an $8 million tax debt to the state of New York.

As Dash continues to grapple with these financial challenges, the potential loss of his engagement ring adds to the growing list of personal and professional setbacks he has faced in recent years.
