In a shocking turn of events, Dallas rapper Yella Beezy has been arrested and charged with capital murder over the 2020 killing of fellow Texas rapper Mo3. The indictment, which was handed down by a grand jury on March 20, 2025, alleges that Beezy "orchestrated" the murder and hired someone to carry it out.
Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Noble Jr., was gunned down in November 2020 on a Dallas highway. He was pursued by a shooter in a balaclava and shot multiple times. The entire incident was captured on nearby security cameras.
Two other men, Kewon Dontrell White and Devin Maurice Brown, had previously been arrested and indicted in connection to Mo3's murder in 2021. However, the new indictment claims that Beezy hired White to commit the actual killing.
Beezy, known for his 2017 hit "That's On Me", and Mo3 were reportedly feuding at the time of the murder. There was also a prior incident in 2020 where Mo3's manager sued Beezy over an alleged assault that took place outside a Dallas recording studio.
Prosecutors have not yet indicated whether they will pursue the death penalty against Beezy, as Texas is a capital punishment state. The 33-year-old rapper is currently being held in Dallas County Jail without bail.
This shocking development comes five years after Mo3's tragic death, underscoring the ongoing violence and feuds that can plague the hip-hop community. The case will surely be closely watched as it proceeds through the legal system.
