Exciting news for fans of Drake and OVO - the popular Toronto music festival is making a comeback this summer after a 3-year hiatus. Drake himself confirmed the return of OVO Fest during a surprise appearance at a Central Cee concert in Toronto.
"I'll see you this summer by the way. OVO Fest will be back this year," Drake told the crowd, also indicating that Central Cee will be part of the festival lineup. This will mark the first time OVO Fest has been held since 2022.
OVO Fest, founded by Drake in 2010, has become one of the biggest annual music events in Toronto. The festival typically features a star-studded lineup of Drake's OVO Sound roster as well as other high-profile hip-hop and R&B artists. Past OVO Fest lineups have included the likes of Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky and many more.
The 2022 edition of OVO Fest was particularly noteworthy, as it featured a reunion of Drake's Young Money labelmates Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. Drake made the surprise OVO Fest announcement during a tour stop by British rapper Dave, telling the crowd "I will see you at OVO Fest soon."
With Drake's ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar, it will be interesting to see if Kendrick or any artists he's beefed with in the past year, like The Weeknd, Rick Ross and A$AP Rocky, end up on the OVO Fest 2025 bill. However, Drake still has a deep roster of OVO Sound artists he can pull from, including PartyNextDoor, Roy Woods and Majid Jordan, all of whom have performed at the festival before.
Details about the 2025 OVO Fest lineup and ticket information have not yet been announced, but fans should keep an eye out for the official festival announcement in the coming months. After a 3-year break, the return of OVO Fest is sure to be a major event for Toronto and hip-hop fans worldwide.
